Everybody knows about the National Poetry Month (but why “National”?). We want to contribute to this moment of artistic sharing by publishing a poem each day. As we found no specific conceptual challenge to associate to this month we decided to publish a different generative poem each day. And, again, given to the lack of a thematic center, we decided to make formal constraints stricter than ever:
- Each work is a cinquain written according to the paradigm of Adelaide Crapsey, i.e. 22 syllables distributed among the five lines in a 2, 4, 6, 8, and 2 pattern.
- Each verse is composed by iambs, except the first and the last ones, which are free.
- Each day a different theme is selected according to the list below. The list has been automatically generated by using the top N most frequent five letters word from the corpus Experience Project, the same used in our WordChains : Stream of Consciousness.
- Each poem is an acrostic which forms the theme of the day.
